Wounded cobra is saved thanks to spinal surgery and a very compassionate man
Snakes aren't exactly the most lovable animals out there. When most people find an injured cobra, their first instinct probably isn't to rescue it.
But for some people, snakes are not enemies. One snake-loving man had a chance to save a wounded cobra, and he took it.

The cobra had been beaten badly by a stick. Its spine was fractured and its intestines were spilling out.
Things weren't looking good for the snake.
At this moment, even the most devoted cobra lover would probably have passed, but Kranthi persisted. He took the cobra home to administer first aid and in the morning, brought it to a veterinary hospital. A surgeon operated on the cobra for over an hour.

The snake's spine was sutured and its stomach stitched back up. The final steps of the process can be seen in this video, shared by Times of India. The snake starts to slither towards the end, seeming to make a speedy recovery.

Kranthi took the snake home. As the founder of the SSS, he's familiar with snakes and is passionate about protecting them. Per the Pune Mirror, Kranthi has made it his life's mission to "dispel superstitions and erroneous beliefs about snakes."
The vets are hopeful that this sleek and slithery snake will make a full recovery. It's a reminder that all animals, no matter how scaly, deserve a chance to be saved.
Slither away, snake pal.
