Fighting game extravaganza Evo is heading back to Vegas in July 2017
Get ready Las Vegas, the best fighting game players in the world and heading back for the biggest fighting game tournament in the world.
The 2017 Evolution Championship Series is returning to the Mandalay Bay convention center in Las Vegas July 14-16, hosting tournaments for a handful of fighting games with thousands of contestants. Evo released a trailer (above) to get the fighting game community hyped for the 2017 event.

Evo is the most prestigious fight game tournament in the world and regularly pulls in the biggest names in the biggest fighting games including Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros., Killer Instinctand Mortal Kombat. The games at Evo 2017 have not been announced yet, but expect Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. Meleeand Mortal Kombat Xat the very least.
The 2016 event included those three games plus six others: Super Smash Bros. 4, Killer Instinct, Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Pokkén Tournament, Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator and Tekken 7. The $101,070 Street Fighter V championship was broadcast on ESPN2, where Lee "Infiltration" Seon-woo took first place.
